It is a losing battle. And any numbnuts who turns one loose is part of the problem.

Same with coyotes. If neighboring folk want better results, too, then everyone has to get on or close to the same page in regard to hogs, deer, coyotes, poachers or whatever.

I know for an absolute fact that one of the properties that I hunt plants peanuts (100 acres plus) successfully by using 2 strands of electric fence and temporary posts. And, it is in an area with a lot of hogs. I regularly catch them right by the field near the fence. It is portable and not a huge expense at all.
People are just gonna bitch about stuff no matter what.
You would think that people would know that by now.

Good number of single strand high tensile electric fences in South Baldwin county and they have proved very effective. And its not just for peanuts, they eat mature wheat and there is a rumor hogs eat corn on the cob, TOO! These are completely portable, temporary fences. As Danny said they will root up to the fence and with food less than 10 away they will stay out of the crop.
Bayed Up summed it up pretty well!

If they do it will save me close to $14,000 dollars a year between leases, dog food, equipment, medicine, gas, and overtime days that I turn down to hunt. Lol
