The Boar was pissed not rabid. Maybe so. Approaching humans at a gas station didn’t seem like natural behavior to me though.

That was just my opinion as is this...The hog was probably hungry and was attracted to the smells coming out of the area. If you're not familiar with this area it's an active commercial area just off I-65. There are lots restaurants, fast food joints and gas stations that most all sell food also. It's more that likely that it was Humans that approached the hog initially. He was probably busy eating out of a trash can or something but yes they will approach and even attack when provoked (or Pissed).
What I'd like to know is where this fellow spent the last year or two. The last population of them on Wheeler NWR were terminated several years ago.

Clem, I'm sort of on Charlie's train of thought. This hog looked mighty well kept to have been living on it's own. Maybe someone is thinking about establishing a new population of them??
