I’m looking at a set of Motorola 350R. They are on a website I have a lot of points for. No cost to me. Nothing else appeals to right now. Don’t have to use points right now. Just wondering if they are ok radios

I don't have the 350R, but I have a pair of Motorola radios and the sound quality on both TX and RX is as good as my Yaesu mobile and base HAM units. You'll need a license to transmit on the GMRS frequencies to get the most out of them. The FRS channels can be used without a license. Either way, don't expect to get the 35 mile range they advertise unless you are on the top of a resort in Gulf Shores talking to someone out in the gulf.

You could buy a couple HAM handhelds and since you'd be getting a license anyway, just go ahead and get the Tech amateur license and you could program those to work on repeaters or use the FRS/GMRS frequencies too for a lot less money

Edit : I just re-read your post. If I could get them free, they may be fun to play with.

What do you want them to do? What's the plan? Gundoc seems to know what's up. I can help with HF and TACSAT. Working on the HAM side of the house.

Just a toy. I would like them to work as well as cb. The only other thing I would consider on the site is the slide belt survival belt. Looks kinda cheesy. Or something for the wife. Not much on the site for hunters

One other question. They have 22 channels. Will the communicate with cb radios?

Ok. Found the answer to that. They will not communicate with each other

Yeah they won't talk to each other. The CB channels are the old 11 meter HF band while those operate in the UHF 462.ish MHz.
