The state has held my wife and I tax returns for the 2015,2016,2017 we never received it. 2015 year I got randomly selected for a survey that was due on "x" date I can't remember the date exactly now with out looking at the letter but any way the due date for the survey before I could get my returns was 7 days before the post stamp on the envelope they mailed it in. I called the number provided never got an real answer out of them roll on to 2016 year never received the return called the number ask questions for days no straight answer out them then said I need to verify that it was me because of identity security got that squared away with them still no return still no straight answers,2017 got everything done and filed early in Jan. Of 2018 got another letter called got things straightened out I thought never received the return last I time I talked to them in May I told them they'd fine me of I owed them and didn't pay and it was BS of a clown show they was running down there and I should be drawing interest on my saving account down there with them since I hadn't got it in 3 years i couldn't feel right calling it a return at this point. Well today I get a letter and now I'm being audited for then2015,2016,2017 years. The state is some dirty assholes

That is dirty dirty!!!

They can hold your money from and never pay you any interest. Let them owe you and they’ll take their sweet ole time.

Periods are your friend.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Sounds like you need to have a face to face meeting with them. I had a problem with them also one year. We went back and forth with a different person every time. Finally asked for a meeting and it all got straightened out before I had it.

My letter said I had to wait 30 days to call in to allow them time to transfer my case from Montgomery to our local office, and then I could call to setup an appointment for a meeting instead of waiting on the state guy to call me when ever its convenient for him within the next 6 months. And Wiley if I wanted an grammar lecture I would have found a educators forum to join instead of this one. Next time I'll make you happy and 575 dozen periods in your next post

I am certainly not an attorney; but once everything is resolved in your favor. I would find the most knowledgeable tax attorney I could find and take the State to court. There are in fact penalties the State MUST pay for delinquent payments, at least from an invoicing perspective when a properly provided invoice matches a purchase order and I would assume the same would be true for a properly filed income tax - but, I am just speculating.
