I have tried the 30-06 before, the deer used it some but I have better luck with a trophy rock..LAST week I poured out 2 cans of powder Gatorade mixed it with a 50 pound bags of trace MINERIAL salt. I Put out a trail camera to see how it works. What is the purpose of the Gatorade? Do you know someone that has had success with it?

As long as you put it over a trophy rock.

How to turn salt into gold. First, package loose salt in a bag. Or press salt into a block. Or you may prefer to package salt to look like a rock. Next, add trace minerals. A good rule of thumb is 99% salt and <1% trace minerals. Think of a catchy name to sucker....er...entice hunters. Examples: Booner Block, Rack Attack, Antler Overdrive, Trophy Boost, and Drop Tine. If you want to go all out, then post a lot on Facebook to show the giant bucks killed thanks to your product. Advertising needs to create the perception that these bucks only reached mature trophy class because of your "nutritional supplement."
On a serious note, there are several DIY recipes that are easy and affordable. If in doubt, add more salt!

I have started leaving "regular" salt out of the mix we use all together. We use Trace mineral salt and Dical. The Trace has enough salt to keep them coming back. SOMETIMES if we are feeling real adventurous we add some grape KoolAid or any smell good powder on top to help the deer find it a little quicker. Started messing with some of the commercial mineral supplements this year ( trophy rock, Big and J) and haven't noticed any different. all are getting used. Actually have one bachelor group visiting two different sites. One is home-brew and the other is a trophy rock.
