As a size reference the tomato immediately above it is about a half pound tomato. Can't wait to see what this one weighs when I pick it.

I have from time to time tried to grow some extra large tomatoes just as a side project. I have even sprouted my own plants from seeds like Big Zac, Goliath, Mortgage Lifters, Bear Claw, etc. I plant plenty of tomatoes that give you good numbers of tomatoes too like Better Boy, Big Beef, Parks Whoppers, etc. But the type that has most consistently given me the biggest tomatoes with the littlest extra attention is a German Queen. They are not very prolific. You will not get a lot of tomatoes from each plant. But baby let me tell you, the ones I do get will sure cover a slice of bread.

Stellar!! Well done. I am struggling with tomatoes this year and just planted eight new ones.

Be kind to one another and tell the ones you love that you love them often. We never know what tomorrow will bring.

Looking good. A co-worker told me recently that German Queens were his favorite maters. I've yet to try one, but I sure do like Cherokee Purples.

I planted some Cherokee Purples this year. Supposed to be fine eating.
