So I got a new puppy, the first week or so we had 0 accidents in the crate and everything was going great. In the last 3 days he's pooped in his crate a couple of times a day. The only real difference is we changed flavors on food. We are still feeding taste of the wild puppy but I think its different than what he was being fed when we got him. He has yet to pee in his crate and when he poops hes not very happy with himself. We will take him out and he will pee and then he just wants to play. We put him in the crate and within 15 minutes hes made a mess. Any ideas.

PS he has yet to make a mess over night its usually in the daytime. I fed him this morning at around 730 and he didn't go to the bathroom until 2 and then it was like the flood gates opened.

You might think this is crazy, but if you have no success in breaking him to poop outside you can try this as a last resort. Take a Q-tip and break it about in half. Then when you get him out of the crate just pop the cotton end in his rectum about 3/4 inch. When you put him on the ground he will crap real soon so be ready to put him outside. It might take a few times to break him, but it will work.

best thing i found is before we put ours in the crate we run him around for about 15 minutes and he pees and poops. I have a lab btw.

Georgia Football..Acts like Bama but has a trophy case like South Carolina.

He had about 4 really bad days and then it just went back to normal🤞 I had to take him to the vet for shots and stuff and she believes that the change in the protein content of the food was the problem. Since he had the problem we have had 0 accidents.

So it was the same brand but a different kind? Oh yeah, that'll screw up most puppies' stomach.

Make sure there's not too much room in the crate. Maybe you have a divider or a small crate.

Yeah taste of the wild. Just different formulas. His crate has just enough room for him to turn around comfortably. He was doing great then he hit a bad spot but seems to have turned the corner.
