What about Vanilla flavoring on a cotton ball? We usually use small cut up pieces of marshmallows soaked in vanilla flavoring. The most important thing is not the bait that’s in the trap……it’s the location of the trap…..If you put the trap in the right spot then you can catch them on about anything. The only thing I’ve found with different bait set-ups is that some are more robbery proof than others. Some of them will pick corn right out from around the trigger and never set it off. I put a piece of sponge on my trigger and it pretty much solved that.

Being a part timer I bait 3DPs with small marshmallows on Saturday AM and check on the next morning. Do that once or twice a month and get a hit every couple times. Not much time for the ants to get on the traps
