Sounds like a lack of enforcement issue.

I like when the fire department smashes both windows and runs the hose directly through the cars in the fire lane. They do that with folks who park in front of fire hydrants.

Sounds like a lack of enforcement issue. I see law enforcement do it more often than anyone else, in non emergency situations. They just make their own spot.

Irks me too. And when someone parks in a handicap spot, gets out and walks just fine.

Irks me too. And when someone parks in a handicap spot, gets out and walks just fine. Not all handicapped folks walk with a limp. So very true, many kinds/types of "handicaps", folks needing special assistance then just walking. Also many times while Mom was still alive I would be parking in a handicap spot hop out and get the stink eye from folks not knowing I was returning to the doctor, or beauty shop, or where ever I had dropped her off early and was back to pick her up.

Morgans father is mostly blind, he walks perfectly fine and visually he looks just fine. He has a placard.

Sounds like a lack of enforcement issue. Never seen enforced. Private property is why.

Sounds like a lack of enforcement issue. Never seen enforced. Private property is why. I could see it not being enforced at some place like Walmart, which is where I see it occur the most often. But, if it is on a public street, it seems like that would be totally enforceable. Of course, that might just be me knowing that if I did such, I would definitely have a ticket and probably a towed car (because that is the way things happen in my world).

Sounds like a lack of enforcement issue. Never seen enforced. Private property is why. Quasi-public property...definitely enforceable.

Sounds like a lack of enforcement issue. Never seen enforced. Private property is why. They enforce walmart and im pretty sure any store that has handicap signs. I see the huntsville parking authority cruising and checking walmart a lot. When you see a cop parked in a firelane, they are likely dealing with a shop lifter or some issue in the store. They are not gonna park in a designated parking spot and walk up to the store if they were dispatched to the scene.

Irks me too. And when someone parks in a handicap spot, gets out and walks just fine. Not all handicapped folks walk with a limp. If you can walk your butt all around a Walmart store with or without a limp then you need the exercise of walking across that parking lot like the rest of us or riding around until you can find a spot closer. Way toooo much abuse. Too many really handicap people not getting to use the handicap spaces. True story... fellow I know lost his leg years ago. Stops at Walmart parks as close as he can because all of the handicaps were full. Now remind you he has a prosthetic leg. He walks up to the handicap spaces couple people are sitting in the cars waiting for people to come out. He props up on one of he sign post and pulls of his leg as if to adjust it. Person gets out of car to help. This guy tells him the best way they can help is to stop parking in those spaces if you’ve dropped someone off and are waiting in them to come out. Did it do any good? I don’t know but it embarrassed the driver of that car because she got in and drove around until their passenger came out.

Sounds like a lack of enforcement issue. I see law enforcement do it more often than anyone else, in non emergency situations. They just make their own spot. In Sylacauga, the only folks I ever see do it are the local police. Your exactly right, the sign might as well read Police Parking. When I’ve watched, they would come out with Walmart bags, sometimes with lunch plates from the deli, sometimes with notepads and other office supplies. Most definitely not emergencies.
