It was very cool seeing this piece of racing history this weekend. The Miss Budweiser won the race the last time the big unlimited hydroplanes ran on Guntersville Lake in 1969. It went on to win the national points championship in ‘69, 70 and 71. Guys brought it all the way from Seattle to be in Gville this weekend.

I remember seeing that boat run in '69. We always went to at least one day of racing back then. Always loved those boats powered by the big aircraft engines.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Anheuser-Busch spend a tremendous amount of money to make sure their boats and cars show favorably, even if they don't win. Cool thing to see!

I posted a pic like I always do but it didn’t show. I'm not seeing any pictures in any threads and I've had an error message a couple times when trying to open the site. I hope she ain't fixin to blow that recap off the tire that skinny put on a few months ago.

She was owned by a now deceased AB Distributer named Bernie Little who lived several hundred yards from me. His local claim to fame was crashing his helicopter when returning home due to spilling a bag of M&M’s in his lap. Money was no object for BL

The guys from the museum said Miss Budweiser sat outside Indianapolis Speedway for several years, but in a covered area. So the original finish stayed intact. The speedway then put it in a warehouse. They described it as like the giant warehouse from Indiana Jones. They searched and searched and finally located it in the warehouse. Then they had to research ownership on it. It still belonged to Little. They called Little and told him about it. He said “I still own that?” and gave it to the hydroplane museum. Whole process took like 6 years to find it, research it, get it to museum. This link should take you to my pic: Miss Bud

He just forgot cause he was wealthy like they said. I tell you though, they keep everything pretty much running and have vintage races at the museum. They got me wanting to go to Seattle to visit. One event features wines from nearby wineries and vintage boat racing. Top speed in qualifying today was 160 MPH. These boats sound like jets going around the course. It’s impressive. They’ll race and qualify all day tomorrow with finals at 5 p.m.
