Buck made his last hunt this morning!!!

He has caught several hundred hogs for me over the last 5 years and I’ve toted his big butt out of the woods on my shoulder several times but as soon as he healed up he was ready to go again. It’s definitely gonna take some time to get use to not seeing that bucket head sitting on the box waiting on a bay.

I saw that on FB, ol buddy......and, I sure hated it!

But, it was what he was born and bred to do, and you were Blessed to have been able to share that with him! It is a rough job that many just do not understand. And, accordingly, the bond that is formed by the level of Trust required to fulfill such a task is not easily defined. His spot will be filled.....but, he will never truly be replaced.

R.I.P. Buck!

Couldn’t have said it better myself!!!

On the positive side I have 11 puppies off him to choose a couple from to fill his spot.

Mike Rowe needs to do a show on tough jobs about catch dogs. Not a tougher job around anywhere.

Sorry man.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

Gosh, that would be hard to deal with.

Sorry to read of this.

Was the PIC with you carrying him on your shoulder from today?

Losing my dog would just make me madder at them and then I'd try to kill every one of them sorry jokers I could find.

I'm sure you hog dog guys handle things like this much better than I ever could.

a catch dog has the most dangerous job in America.

No sir. That was 2 years ago. I didn’t think he was going to make it that day. Hog cut the main artery in his front shoulder and I had to pack it with cellox and taped it shut Till I could get him to the vet.

I raised him from a puppy and his momma was the best catch dog I ever had. She died of old age at 13 years old.

Hate to hear this but it kinda goes with the territory. It’s always hard losing a good one.

Sorry for your loss. Glad you've got the pups to carry on his bloodline. Always tough to lose a good hunting dog.
