They're helpful in the hospital when your loved one doesn't have the strength or physical ability to hold a cup for a sip of water.

They are talking about enacting a law where waiters and waitresses can be arrested for giving two straws to the same person. lord help you if yours falls on the floor, better not ask for another. Just ban the damned things like Californistan did with plastic bags, I think, and be done with it.

If some Republican who touts his or her "outdoors values and lifestyle" here in Alabama would have the guts to propose, push through and get enacted a ban on plastic bags as a way to help the outdoors and wildlife, that would IMO be great.

"help the environment" has a liberal ring to it although it's 100 percent accurate. But ol' Joe Bob probably won't go along with that. He probably would, though, if "help the outdoors and the wildlife you love to hunt and fish by supporting a ban on these terrible plastic bags" was how it was pitched.

Doesn't matter if you, personally, aren't throwing a straw on the ground or in the ocean. Or me. or 257, or James, or anyone. It's a big damned problem, period, and needs attention. Shrugging it off as "I didn't do it, wasn't me, screw 'em." isn't really the best way to work on a problem

Same thing with poachers. "Wasn't me! I didn't shoot those deers!" doesn't help. Folks who shrug their shoulders and say "Eh, screw 'em. Wasn't me, not my problem." are part of the problem.

It kills me to see all the plastic along the fishin banks. I pick up what i can but it gets old. If folks would put it where it belonged then we wouldnt be having these talks. Why would u throw garbage down. I just dont get it but lots of people treat the water like a garbage can and it gets under my skin.
