There is a mount in the Troy Sports Shop that is some kind of archery record buck, but I don't remember what it scored. I could be wrong but I believe that is DAX from on here deer that he killed some years ago. I believe it grossed around 194".

I've got one of those books around here somewhere. It's probably 15 years old though. I think it's just called Alabama Whitetail Records.

At one time and I believe there is still an Alabama whitetail records book. A buck scoreing 150+ with a gun could be entered. Scores were different for bow. Cost you $25 to submit you application to get it into the book the last I remember.

IIRC, the biggest Alabama buck was killed in Perry county about 30 years ago on property owned by jimmy Hinton.

He paid to get his deer entered and a book and I paid for a book at a deer show. I think it was the one in Birmingham, but it could have been the Buckmaster show. This would have been early to mid 90's or so. Bottom line, neither of us received a book.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

. it shows what we can have here in bama. Fake news. Everybody knows you can't grow big bucks in Bama with our 6 month season and all these pine trees. Well maybe in Jackson Co. but nowhere else.

top bow kill (typical) in Al is a 170" 10 point killed in Lee Co. stalk hunting on foot with a recurve. This is by Boone and Crockett scoring, not that AWR garbage.
not sure of the non typical record
edit, it was with a compound.

not sure of the non typical record IIRC George Mann killed an 8 point with a bow back in the 80s which scored around 170.
