I know this has been on here a lot, but heading down to Gulf shores Monday morning and staying until Sunday, me the wife and our 2 girls. Need some good choices for eating out mainly dinner, I have been to Wolf Bay a couple times and will go back, but need a couple more ideas?

My all time favorite is Doc's but you gotta be there @ 10am before the crowd. Best raw oysters and fried skrimps in OB.

For dinner the places SBS and XVII listed are all great food. We also like Big Fish and Villagio's.

Yep, been there many times. No fancy view just good food. Best fried shrimp at the beach.

My daughter was there last week with my MIL and some other older ladies. They had brunch one day at a relatively new place called Ruby Slipper Cafe. They all raved about it. I'm sure I could find something to eat there but apparently females love it. You might want to impress the women one day for a late breakfast before you go and down the 24 Oz. Ribeye at Big Mike's that night.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Appreciate all the feedback, looking forward to relaxing, eating good, and hopefully not drinking too much this week. Anybody else gonna be down that way this next week?

We just missed you. We got back tonight at 9pm from OB. We have 2 small rowdy boys so we rarely make the attempt to go out to eat. Never ate at big mikes but every time ive passed by there the cars were parked all the way out to the road. Oyster house is good also.

Oyster House is.good.but mostly frozen premade. There's several better choices. Been wanting to try Coastal in the location where Nolans was.

Louisiana Lagniappe. Been great every time I've been. It's in San Roc Cay on left just before Perdido Pass bridge.

Where's the best place in the area for char-grilled oysters?

Fishermans Corner is awesome. go to Perdido and when road turns left, go over the intercoastal then immediately make a left and go back under the bridge. It is on the right. You will turn before the gas station and publix.

Best food I have found from Gulf Shores to Pensacola.

I'll second Jesse's in Magnolia Springs. Also, if you are in Foley and can handle some spice, you must try Desmond's Jamaican Cafe, awesome food, friendly real Jamaicans, and good prices.

Big Fish is as good as any restaurant down there

Don’t be sketched out by location, it’s in a strip mall by the T of canal and OB Blvd, it’s between a subway and a Pizza Hut I think

But it is jam up 100% great restaurant.

White table cloth, and nice, but kid friendly at same time

Definitely ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and without a doubt the best quarter pounder in the state. The fries are right up there with the Union Springs location too.

Solid reccomendation.

My condo is straight across the road from it so I'm sure I will have a revue son. Big Mikes was awesome.

Ribeye at Big Mike's that night.

Ruby slipper is NOLA based, several in south Louisiana. Better not go there, only a 50:50 chance you walk out alive. rofl

It is without a doubt one of the top five in OB. It got great reviews this past December by locals at the taste of the Islands. Which is an event I highly recommend y’all to come to this year. You pay one price and get a sampling of what the best restaurants down here have to offer. It’s all you can eat plus the best part it benefits the local toys for tots by the USMC.

I also highly recommend SALT but it is pricey. It reminds me a lot of Central in Montgomery. Big Mike’s has been packed every afternoon starting at 5:00. The Anchor bar and grill just off Canal road is our favorite. It is owned by some Orange Beach firemen so we try to help them out as much as possible. It has a limited menu but everything on it is outstanding. Don’t go there if you are wanting the fried seafood platter that any work release fry cook can do.

Fin and fork is hands down our most favorite joint down here. We come here to OB 7-8 times a year and was in disbelief that shipps had closed doors for good. We ate at villagio’s at the wharf tonight and it was not worth the $$$ by no means. Leroy is there any hidden gems tucked back off canal road? All of our local spots have gone to crap or shut down.

Lunch, supper, afternoon snack, whatever. I always try to go to Doc's as often as possible when I'm there.

I love Doc's fried crab sammich. I think they call it a Spider Burger.
