I don't know much about if there's any difference,a long as you buy good metal from a reputable manufacturer, and I am sure Talley is.

I discussed this with Gundoc about 6061 VS 7075 VS Steel.
Like most thing it seems like for me, I went with a middle of the road route, thought 6061 might be a bit soft and steel as overkill on a 6.5Creedmoor.

I did some reading after we talked. To put in in perspective 6061-T6 which is commonly used in the gun industry has a minimum yield strength of at least 35, 000 PSI.

7075-T6 is at least 63,000 PSI.

6061-0 which is annealed has a minimum yield of 8,000 PSI which is still plenty for a scope base/rail.

Interesting how much the strength varies in the two alloys of 6061 with T6 having 4X the stength.

Only accurate rifles are interesting.

The 6.5 creedmore has been giving me the itch for quite some time now and this gun is sharp. I may have to save my pennies or sell something. I have been wanting a 6.5 caliber.

6.5Creedmoor is here to stay, even late to the party Remington is producing rifles and ammo(meaning they've given up on 260)
Went into Wal-Mart in Ft Payne which is a population of 15K and bought match ammo.
