Killed Deer underreported

He's gonna whine about under reporting forever I guess. Too hard to admit that they've over estimated the deer population for the past 20 years.

Did I read correctly. Did he say that we could kill more deer if there was honest reporting? So does that mean he would raise the buck limit to 4 and not limit does at all

His division doesn't get "funding" from the legislature. So that's not a valid possibility.

The Tuscaloosa news is a rag worthy of only butt-wiping and that article shows why. Sykes is a joke.

If we read between the lines sounds like we will be seeing more road blocks and the like next year if he has his way.

And once again he sets out attacking land owners and anyone not legally required to buy a license. He's really got a hardon for increasing license sales.

If hunters aren't reporting their harvest numbers, then how does he know it isn't but 30%? I don't think it is going to matter how many animals are reported that Sykes is still going to use those 40 year old SWAG estimates and then still bitch. He will probably hire one of those gung ho Maine game wardens to run enforcement, then the hunters will really have something to gripe about.

Alabama is one of only a few states who don't take game laws seriously.
If we enforced the laws, like they do in Maine, we wouldn't have to be so concerned about the "data".

Obviously I'm not the smart one here. GC was mandated and the majority totally ignored it. This sent a message to the hunters, the Dept, and everyone else paying attention. Now, the threat of reduced season and bag limits. With the message sent by GC, why does anyone think the majority will follow a new mandate on seasons and limits? It's loud and clear to me, the not so smart one, that hunters have refused to partner with the current establishment.

You say that and are absolutely correct but have you really thought about the situation? This is coming on year 3 of GC. Up to now it has been a complete failure. If this 3rd season shows another decline even his staunch supporters will have to start questioning his leadership. It all rides on the 2018-19 season. All of nothing. Yes, he is about to get even more stupid. He is a desperate man professionally

Thus why I said threat. Start reductions and that will equate to lost $$$ for the Dept. and communities. Hes painted himself into a corner.

Correct. He isn't backing up now. He will try and prove himself right at the expense of the hunters. It's sad one man will promote his agenda that doesn't work over the betterment of the state.

What a lying POS. Said the extended season was to gather data and supported by rut in February. Yet he omits he actually said at the CAB meeting it wasn't based on sound science. And of course he didn't say a peep about the extension being in the "deal" to get votes for GC. He sure didn't say anything about it's faults and not working very reliable. As I've said before, he's one of them fellers that will piss down your back and tell you it's rainin'.
