My guess is someone on the council or maybe more than one, wants to be sharp and notch a "look what I accomplished" on their belt. Instead of tackling the difficult issues, which are the ones that matter most to us tax payers, they try to get the low hanging fruit or heart string issues. It's happening from local city councils all the way up to D.C.

Agreed! I don't condone abusing animals but they are animals nontheless not humans. These wackos trying to put any animal at human level is absurdity to the max. If they get their way even deer will eventually be protected by insane laws.

I got flamed on FB when people were asking and promoting that killing a police dawg should resort in charges of murder. I pretty much said they were nuts. Obviously its wrong to kill the dawg, but murder is defined as one person killing another person with malice. Universally people told me how wrong I was.

Topics and threads like this make me so glad I live in a small rural town where we leave each other the hell alone. There may not be many fancy places to eat nearby and the nearest movie theater is over an hour away but I can promise you this; my nearest neighbor doesn't give a tinkers damn whether the new utility shed I put in my backyard will have any impact on the value of his place. Nor does he care how many pets I have inside my home. And I equally don't give a rats ass what he does on his property.

I remember someone on here once talking about being reported to some kind of neighborhood association because the people doing lawn work at his house left a rake out and leaning against the side of his shed. I'd live in a place like that about as long as it took to rent a Uhaul trailer. There is too much aggravation in life as it is to put up with that kind of bull$#@t.

I have a Different opinion. I worked on a church in Robertsdale several years ago. A guy living next to that church had a pen full of big dogs. Any and everyday the smell of dogchit would take your breath away. The church burned down, they opted not to rebuild on that location. Some folks don't have the amount of sense required to pour pee out of their shoes. The public needs laws to protect them from idiots like that man. This Country suffers from idiots that think a dog is more important than a child. You can't watch TV without some celeb begging you to donate to starving dogs. These people need a grip on life.

The humane society commercial when they play “Arms of an Angel” for background music with a bunch dogs behind bars really grinds my gears. It would be more effective for Bob Barker to stand up with his late 80’s style microphone telling the general public to spay and neuter your pets.

That’s all it would take. Bob Barker and the guy who writes all the Geico commercials. Although you’d probably have to lobby against the dog food folks. It’s a start though.

The Humane Society of the US, HSUS, doesn't even fund or operate a single animal shelter anywhere.
They are purely an anti-hunting lobbying organization.
Their commercials are total BS lies.

Anyway, I'd like to translate what she really said.
If they were honest she would have said, "I joined the HSUS because I'm such a hypocrite that I feel the need to force my views on everyone else, even when it doesn't affect me at all. I don't even care that my methods are illegal and I'm infringing on other people's rights."

Reading aldeer is getting as depressing as reading the news. Folks blocking gas pumps, telling me how many dogs I can have, one thing after another to upset me.
