I am thinking about getting one for my 8 year old but I know nothing about them. I want to go electric cause that is what will be the future. I know us old hard asses like our internal combustion 2 stroke motors, but I have to think about what will be best for my yungins so it has to be electric.
Who knows anything about electric go karts? Oh and I dont have a big bank roll so lets try and keep it under 1k.

Giving an 8 year old boy an electric go cart would be like naming him Sue.

I'm pretty certain they're significantly over $1,000 but the electric karts at K1 speed are extremely torquey and a lot of fun because of the instant throttle response.
https://www.k1speed.com/karts.html

About as much fun as you can have with a kart until you get to a full on shifter kart I imagine.

I know Fuzzy, but electric is what kids will be working on in shops come 10 years from now. Steam engines got replaced by gas engines, now electric is replacing gas.

Not looking for racing speed, just around the neighborhood speed.

Not so sure about the Electric takeover.
Just sold an electric golfcart myself.
Expensive to replace batts and overall a PITA.

Yup, but so is cleaning out oil and sanding pistons. just to make it run right. Times are changing, our kids need to be able to keep up.

We won’t be wholesale swapping to electric anytime in the next 30 years. There are too many jobs tied to “oil”

oil will fight back, but electric will win, it may take 30 or more years however I am sure that our children will be living till they are 120 on average so that is 70 years of difference. Might as well train them on electric.

217,00 miles on my Tundra. No maintenance to speak of. I wont buy electric until that's all there is, we'll all be dead and gone by then. The Good Lord will probably return first.

My neighbors bought these for their 2 kids for Christmas this past year. Seem to still be going strong.

The electric cart was actually his. He prefers his 4 wheeler.

"Its Wi-Fi connectivity and GPS features let you track your child's location remotely, and its built-in proximity sensor prevents collision with detected obstacles."

That is some pretty awesome tech in a kids toy that Bamaturkeykiller posted.

My narrow arse would prolly sit in it just fine, and I would have fun with it and not give my kids any time on it which is the intended purpose, my kids not me. laugh Sometimes its tough being a grown-up but I have learned to not set foot on a damn skateboard anymore.
