What is the most common cause of scope ring marks? I assume it to be over tightening the bolts, but wanted to hear from you. I have been seeing a lot of talk about ring marks lately in the classifieds, and wanted to know the source.
I can't stand a thief.

I’d say cheap rings and mis-alignment is the two biggest factors.
