I know it was cold last night, river came up and like to have trapped me. I waded water over my boots to get out at dark and dang that water was cold.

Y'all turkey hunters is crazy to go hunt when it feels like 29 degrees!

Went but wind was awful. Heard 1 gobble 3 times. Had to leave for a doctor appointment

I got one at the house im going to curb stomp when we kill him. Last Monday he gobbled 3 times then shut up before we set up on him. Heard him twice this morning and he shut up. Both mornings it’s been around 7:00 when I heard him so we will actually be waiting on him at daylight in the morning. He should have been easy to kill he was by himself looking at tracks.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

I know it was cold last night, river came up and like to have trapped me. I waded water over my boots to get out at dark and dang that water was cold. Several years ago, I was hunting the swamps of the Tombigbee in Marengo County. At the time I only had one stand and it was hung on high ground in a swampy area - and a front like came through this weekend was coming. I decided to hunt that morning until the rain started... and I crossed a slough to that high ground when the water was about at the bottom of my calf to get there. I was seeing a lot of deer, so I stayed well into the rain... and finally left with my stand about an hour after it started. The slough that had been about a foot high when I went in was about chest high when I was coming out. Luckily, I had chest waders on that day... but had I stayed any longer I'd have had to swim out in 40 degree weather.

I’ve been on 4 gobblers all morning. Had them talking just after daybreak but couldn’t get them to come across the field so I low crawled through a pine thicket to get closer. Watched them browse out of the field at 10:00 so I packed out. I’ll be sore in the AM because of the work I put in on those birds but it was worth it. Great Hunt.

Great bird, Crenshaw! The evidence is circumstantial, but I think I got the one that I missed a few days back. Sure lost a lot of sleep to get the last one.
