I’m looking for a used tractor with a bush hog and maybe a disc. Anyone know any good places to look around the Tuscaloosa area? I will be bush hogging about 7 acres and also planting green fields. I will hopefully buy a tiller for it a little later so I can make my garden a little larger. I assume a 20hp will be the minimum size. I’ve checked craigslist and the Classitides.

7 acres and a 20 hp tractor will leave you more frustrated than anything, and it would limit you to 4 ft implements. IMO you should look at a L2501 and up. Lot of good used Kubotas on craiglist. I dont know what your price range is but Pretty fair deal on this one . https://bham.craigslist.org/grd/d/kubota-l3200-tractor-and/6562413716.html

Get one with 4wd and a FEL. Took me 16 months to find a good one 11 years ago. Good luck.

I have a 23hp subcompact with 4wd and a FEL. It does anything I ask it to do, but being a very small tractor, sometimes you have to ask it a little differently than you would a bigger tractor. I have a tiller, a bush hog, and a post hole auger that all see a good bit of use on it. All that said, we bought the subcompact because we intended for it to do double duty as a lawn mower...it also has a belly mower...we didn't like the way it cuts, so the belly mower almost never gets used. Had we known then that we wouldn't be mowing with it, we'd definitely have bought something in the 30+hp range instead, if for no other reason than to have the extra weight.

I never heard anyone say "I wish I had bought a smaller tractor". Get one about twice the HP you think you need. Also like Top Cat said, a fel & 4wd is a must.

You should have some local dealers and obviously you can begin your search there.
Irby Tractors in Vincent, AL is a good place to start looking if you are wanting something newer. He can also find you something if you tell him what you wan - I believe he goes to auctions regularly.
Next you can look at what AG-PRO and TriGreen have on their websites.
Then you can look at Fastline or Tractor House and see what all the other smaller dealers have listed. You'll see all the smaller dealers with used tractors listed there and go to their websites and check out what else they might have.
That should put several hundred used tractors on your radar.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.
