Basically, the SAUM has a little more horsepower but can't be used in an internal mag,and the PRC is better if you want to use factory ammo. I'm really hoping the PRC will catch on a bit more and Laupa will start producing brass. I wouldn't hesitate on either though.
Right now the biggest reason I'm considering it is because it's the faster 6.5 offered in the next rifle I'm saving to buy, The Seekins Havak. I hope you like it as much as I like my 7 SAUM. The Sherman Short Mags look impressive, too.

The 6.5 PRC looks like a winner for long range. Mild recoil, factory ammo availability, and mild recoil will be a plus. Hornady considered SAAMI approval of the 6.5 SAUM GAP 4S but ultimately decided upon the PRC design. Hornady has made special manufacturing runs of the SAUM GAP brass due to its popularity and I wonder if they will continue this. Hornady brass quality is spotty, and availability of Lapua or Norma brass will be a positive for the PRC.
