Finally getting the Ph right. This is a dedicated white clover field that I planted 7 years ago, it made one year and then kinda dissapeared. The plot was disced and planted in fall mixes until 2 years ago when I limed it heavily and the clover came back with a vengeance. So much so I added another acre to the original "L" shaped plot for fall mixes and am turning the entire original plot to perrenial clover. Will be doing some grass management this spring

I also tried a new mix of annuals in the winter plots including Berseem, a Medium Red and Yuchi Arrowleaf clover which did very well

Better start right now with the grass control. Won't be long until some of those unwanted grasses will be putting on seed heads.

Yea, I usually spray for grasses at the first of April, on perennial clover plots.

Thanks for the info. I will get my buddy up there on it. A friend of his who plants plots for a living sent us some high price herbicide for perennial clover that is that is supposed to do the job.

We have a pretty good number of deer, they are just fed real well. Both my south neighbor and I plant more in plots than we really need too and he feeds about $4,500 in corn/protein a year. Add about 200 acres of two 1/2 year old clear cut to the west and 6-8 acres of beans/corn in the summer and they have more than they can eat. The fall plot/annual clover pic is from a plot that had very little use the last two years. There is noticeably much less deer activity in the north part of my place than the south, which I think can be partially attributed to it being farthest from my heavily feeding neighbor. I did do an 8 acre clear cut on my north boundary last year in hopes of encouraging more activity in that area. As far as numbers last year was best in 3-4 years. There were 3 3.5+ year old bucks that all weighed over 198 lbs shot including a nice 129" 8 point and an average of over 3.5 deer were seen per sit including 15 in one sit which is the most ever for my place.

I sprayed my grasses in my clover fields 7 days ago and I can't tell that I sprayed any! I used Section herbicide and I think it has Clethidiem (sp?) in it. It's what my CoOp guy recommended. How long before I see the grasses to start turning yellow?

Takes a while. Give it a couple of weeks. Cleth doesn’t burn it quickly like roundup.

This^^^^. May take up to 3 weeks to get a kill, but the grass is no longer growing.

Looks good but it's time to spray. A few years ago I had 13 acres of lush, weedless clover on my lease but it took too much work to keep it that way. Spraying, mowing, spraying again and the hour or longer trip up there just overwhelmed me.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I originally planted it in the Whitetail Institute blend many years ago. I may have hit it with some Durana a few years ago. The strange thing is the perennial clover did ok a few years and then pretty much disappeared for years and I tilled it and planted it as a typical fall plot.. Then I limed it and it came back so good I decided to just convert it to a perennial clover patch and pushed out an acre around it for fall plots.
