Is it okay to use field points in today's 3D targets? I ain't shot them in about 10 years, and I just want to use my hunting arrows on an occasional local shoot just for fun and don't want to buy the target points. I remember many years ago, them jokers were hard as heck to pull out. Thanks.

As long as your field point is not larger than the arrow shaft it will be fine.

Depending on who makes the target, some are a pain to pull. Order or buy some arrow lube, it makes pulling a lot easier. A bar of soap will work too.

I use to carry a hotel soap bar and a rubber jar lid gripper thingamabob. The OP was more for seeing if new target materials have improved. I remember when Rineharts were a softer foam. I also remember the old McKenzies!

Instead of soap, you can also use vegetable oil. Put a little on a paper towel and wipe down the end of the arrow just before shooting. A little will go a long my way.
