I popped into lowes today and swung thru the garden section.. They had 5 ft tall chestnuts for $34.

tytyga.com has 3-4 ft tall trees $29 each.. @ ck out , 3 of them shipped are $82 (discount over $60 purchase) and using code letsgrow saves another few bucks.

I just got 8 from Stark Bros. 8.99 each opended them up and was pleasantly surprised. 4 to 5 feet tall and one heck of a root system. I also have 25 I started here at school from seed. They are all about 8 inches tall.

Have you had good luck out of those fred ?

I really want to get some of these purple leaf plums put out. We had a neighbor back when I was a kid that had 5 of these and they dropped a ton of plums and had sprouts coming up everywhere around them. They would be long gone before hunting season but they dang sure would feed em thru the growing season. Maybe a cpl of these and a cpl of keiffer pears for a later drop would work good. https://www.fast-growing-trees.com/Newport-Plum.htm

Rmart, these are the first I've tried, got two of em in the ground today, along with another plum tree. They are maybe 30 feet from two other plum trees so pollination should not be a problem.

If your going to plant a bunch of bare root trees get a Dibble Bar. Man that thing makes it easy. I planted 100 in little over an hour with it.
