I would assume that the type of chain that is on a swing set should be adequate enough to hold a coon, do you think. I was like .54 a foot and I got enough to extend all of my traps 5'. I lost another trap last night but he obviously wasn't the smartest coon in the woods as he walked over 8 feet and caught his other leg in one of the three I had set in that group.

LMAO...that was probably the one you wanted to let go to breed...no point in smartening up the herd by killing the morons off!

Cool! How many have you caught so far? That's one of the reasons I like setting them in groups. You're eventually gonna catch a double and maybe even a triple ......but you're also more likely to catch that one coon that picks that first trap clean or somehow triggers it without getting caught. He'll likely get caught on one other them..

In less than a week, I have caught 18 coons and 5 opossums on what started out as 12 traps. It is sorta odd, one night, I might only catch one and then the next night, with the same bait, I will hit 5-6 coons.
