Seems like the ants love to bed in the roots of trees. I got some young saw tooths i planted. Checked them yesterday and one had big ant bed. What do yall use to kill ants that dont harm trees?

Yes. Ants are a problem with trees. Remove tree tubes after trees are two years old and I use whatever ant poison Lowe’s has. Tree tubes attract ants

.......and wasps! Better be ready for them bastages when you start removing your tubes.

Most ant poisons have no effect on trees in my experience. In fact, Best I can tell I have never had an ant poison effect a tree. Never hurts to read the label before using of course.

I like that Orthene that you can get at Wal Mart for about $8.

I sprayed some fire ant mounds today around some of my fruit trees with bifen I/T, which is what I use around my yard. I've not had any trees affected that I can tell. The last 2 years I've mixed the bifen in my food plot sprayer and sprayed my whole yard, it keeps the fire ants knocked back for a couple months.
