Today I received a certified letter from a company in Arizona, when I opened it in bold letters across the top it says ‘notice of traffic violations ‘ and in a couple of pictures is my wife’s suburban behind a 35mph sign. According to the piece of paper, someone was driving 37 mph. The paper says it was a 25mph zone, so I am assuming maybe it is a school zone but I am not sure. But I googled them and Brantley has a pretty good racket going but I am curious is this even legal? And didn’t some aldeer folks have some experience with Brantley ? I am thinking about trashing the letter, what’s y’all thoughts?

My wife and kids are having a good time with this because I am always on them about safety and driving speed. I don’t recall seeing a school sign and I always, without exception, follow the speed limit in school zones so it has me kind of puzzled.

Brantley has the photo speed trap. I always have to slow down to 25 through that whole stretch from Papa's to the outskirts to avoid tickets. They change speeds from 25 to 35 to 25. Sounds like you got nailed at the school. Crazy rofl loco

US Highway 331 does pass in front of the school and they do keep a white camera car parked by the road, but I also think there are road signs warning of this enforcement.

First, check and see if the state legislature has given them (Brantley) the authority to enforce civil law for this particular offense. If not, send it to the State's AG office. Trashing it will mean the AZ company pursuing it as a civil debt. There are no criminal charges involved, but they could make trouble for your credit score.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Nawww man. No one needs a credit score. 100% seashell payments or pound sand.
AZ used to have speed cameras on 10 if I remember correctly. New Mexico is too poor to have cameras and Texas only has one freeway speed, WideOpenThrottle.

Yeah they do warn you. Every time I drive that way to my hunt club I won't go over 25 and give them an excuse. Brantley has always been known as a speed trap over front porch town and home of chuck person. Don't ever go to the gin creek store either during hunting season. 3-5 Game wardens are usually there looking for folks buying corn and stuff.

I 've only been through there a few times in my life but the last time I went through there it got me doing 40 in a 35 at 8:58 am. $80 ticket. I just paid the ticket and I don't go through Brantley no mo. I saw my sister get ran over by a Ford dully when she was in 1st grade while getting on the school bus so I'm all for enforcing traffic laws around school zones and school buses.

If the sign says 25 in Brantley, you better be doing 24. They have a couple of unmarked cars that write a LOT of tickets also.

I remember a big water tower on the high way in Brantley my grandparents live two houses from it. Cops set there a lot.

i don't like such speeding gimmicks, because you can't face your accuser. but, i'll say this for brantley: the town WARNS repeatedly and at great length that the speed limit is strictly enforced. just saying ...

Is it illegal to buy corn or something?

I've got my license in 74 and Brantley was a speedtrap then and has always been a speedtrap.

What is in Brantley?

A road that it seems like we have to travel on anytime we go to my sons baseball game, I think we were on our way to Greenville that day. We came back through Troy, looks like that will be the way we travel from now on
