That was a red light special!! We have 14 parties that are interested in seeing the property. This is some very special property, spent a day on it. Wasn't, leased or in a club last year....It's sweet. That said if you are interested in the property after we set up a look see, I will honor that price, but I expect the club memberships to go higher. We also discovered some pretty bad roads that are going to require some work, and whoever was there before tool all the stands with them. It is a beautiful piece of property. On the sipping- I heard there some good sipping stuff in Lowndes county, but we prefer Montgomery because they drop a ripe keffer pear in it -kind of browns it up sweetly ..
But if 6 guys wanted it for $3000 each, the same $18,000 thats ok right? Just as long as the guy running it gives you the $18,000...it caps off at 12 members...so 12 or less?
yes you have it right.... I have a lot of interest in this club and I will be setting up an opportunity to see the property in the next three weeks, the club can not go for less than 18,000.00 were you able to see the short video I did??
Any options for the poor folks if the property goes unleased. For example could a guy lease say 20 acres for $500 or $600 or whatever it equals up to an acre.
If the price was the same, I see why it went un-hunted last year...
I also noticed the video labeled this 1,220 acres as "Spooky Scary", but that is what you called the 600 you are advertising in the other thread? Is the video labeled incorrectly or do you consider all of it "Spooky & Scary"?

It was a nice looking clearcut for sure. Just going to go out on a limb here. There are 3 clubs, Club 1 850 acres (his club), Daggerhorn 1025 acres and Daggerhorn 600 acres. I'm betting that GAR holds the lease on all three. I looked up Daggerhorn and it looks like it used to be a commercial operation at one time. There is a nice camp area with camphouse, lake etc that was advertised back in 2005 and again in 2009. He's trying to lease these other two parcels for a total of $30,500. When you divide that by the total acreage involved between all three clubs, miraculously, it works out to just under $12.50/acre or pretty much the going rate for similar land. Anyone want to bet that he's using these other 2 leases at $17.50 and $19.50/acre to subsidize the cost of his? Great deal for him. My hat's off to him if he can pull it off.

Sorry to derail, but was reminded of this old show...good luck!

Makes the $5 a pig pretty easy to pay! The video was a real let down as well, nothing to get excited about! Might need to venture further from the Polaris and find some better deer sign!
yes Spooky Scary, both tracks, it was to us as the night crept in and the woods came alive.... the clear cut is 100 acres out of 1220.... I know every one is hammering the property and us. That ok, its pretty simple, you either want it or you don't, sorry if anyone is offended, not meant to offend anyone. The Daggerhorn has done a lot of good for communities, injured soldiers and medically fragile kids over the past 14 years. The market will set the ultimate price for these two clubs, we have other clubs that will be coming out in the future more in West Alabama. May all of these clubs go to groups that dont have drama and that respect the great American Whitetail and these lands. To all of you I extend my respect for you opinions, conjecture and inference about the Daggerhorn Plantation. All the best. DP
That's the 4th time that question has been specifically raised without any response whatsoever or attempt to answer from the original poster. Think about that. It's not hard to make a semi-educated guess on who's hunting those "boar toms".
Hey, I've got no issue with Daggerhorn. He came back and responded a couple posts up that the price is the price and you get what I'm telling you you get for the $$, take it or leave it. Kudos to him for sticking to his price and telling it like it is. Respect the man for an honest, cordial and professional response. I would however like some follow up from him as to whether he gets this property leased at this price and under these terms.
I will tell all when this new club stands up. The bottom-line is the turkey rights are not included, there are several reasons, none of which really matter because the club does not come with turkey rights at this time. How can I describe what can not be granted other than they are not included?
Honestly, concerning the club- if the price is too high, then the club will not fly. (right) I am going to need to spend a pretty good amount of money to get the place right for hunters (1200 acres is a lot of land). Hopefully hunters that take kids hunting (I think getting kids in the woods is more important than any buck or turkey- we need to hook them when they are young, we need to plant seeds for shade we will never see). Inference surrounding this opinion might explain a lot for those with questions. I must admit I was a bit taken back at how fellow hunters wrote opinions about my motives and actions without knowing me. It was disappointing, but everyone is entitled to their opinions. I respect that more than I can describe in this short message.
At some stage, its better for me to shut up and color. I most certainly don't want to argue or fight with people that "get it", people that love our wildlife, our outdoors and all it does for us, in our lives and in our stomachs. Again, I don't want to fight anyone on the site. I just want to see if there is interest, and if there is, I want to do all I can to make the group that gets it happy with the club. There is a lot that has to be done, the roads are a mess, fields are grown up, we need to name things and create some stories that interest kids and makes them fall in love with this life style. Abolt300, thank you for what you did write, it was objective and fair. I hope everyone kills some big bucks this year and don't forget to spank/gas some nannies cus they eat better. all the best DP

He's a good guy to have in your corner and not as your enemy. He's got pitbulls.
Dagger, I also fully respect what you are trying to do with respect to the kids and wounded warriors. That is admirable and more of that is needed in today's world. Best of luck to you on finding the right person or group to work with you on this venture. Keep us posted on how it goes. This can be a pretty rough site, with amazing detectives that the FBI would love to have on staff, but your having been completely honest and professional with your responses about the situation will earn you respect from most on here, regardless of whether they like the land, rules or price. You have mine. Good luck
I was going to make a post earlier along the same lines as abolt did above, but when I got it all typed out, I accidentally refreshed the page and it all went away. Probably just as well, abolt's reply was much more eloquent than mine.
Bottom line, why does it matter who has the turkey rights? Daggerhorn made it crystal clear in the very first post they weren't included, along with a price to lease the property for DEER hunting. From there, it's take it or leave it. If he had said that HE was keeping the turkey rights for himself, is it a deal breaker? If he had said that someone other than him had the turkey rights, would that be ok? Or, is there any interest in leasing the land period, or are y'all just trying to stir up crap for the guy?
I'm of the opinion that he is high for his lease price, but that's his business...and like he said, the market will determine whether or not it will lease at that price.
Heck, Squeaky and Hogwild have basically done the same thing on their ad, and no one is busting their balls (rightfully so) over only a select few members having turkey rights.
ALL members are allowed to Turkey hunt on our place. That was simply a forewarning that there was no need in asking to ‘buy’ the Turkey Rights or purchase a Turkey-only membership. Also, letting other ‘serious’ turkey hunters know that there were already 2 serious Turkey hunters on board.

:?
So you and Mike sold me exclusive turkey rights that dont exist??? Come on Danny, what's up with that? At $0.20/acre I'm paying a very fair price. I mean heck, that's $800 and you guys only have 4,000 acres. If I'm gonna have to share with others, we need to be more in that 5-10 cents per acre range!

We knew you had plenty of spare money laying around.....and were no real threat to the turkeys. So, you got ‘The Special’!!!
He k, I wish I could throw that kind of money(along with some buddies) at that lease. I bet the deer population is purty good. Would love to be able to turkey hunt as well but with work, I don’t get to turkey hunt near as much as deer hunt
The two properties (1220 and 600) are no longer available. Thank your for your interest, and we will let you know if other properties surface in the future.
All the best and happy hunting in the season (s) to come.
