Alroght guys. Im going tomorrow morning and wondering. Should I get in the same blind as the other day where they landed 60 yards away and walked out. Or go sit under the tree the strutted right next to. The tree really cuts down my visiblity. But if they fly down it will be in my lap.

I'd go to the tree, but in not much on sitting in a blind for Turkey hunting.

Hope you get him this morning. I’d go to the tree as well because I’m not much on a blind either but I also don’t have turkeys that roost remotely close to the same spot day in and day out. With all that said, I’m about to sit in a blind for a couple of days. I have a grumpy ol bird that won’t act right but does come to a small field somewhat regular in the mornings. I think if I can take him out it will help my hunting. It will also make me happy haha; I’ve dealt with him for 3 years.

So my alarm didnt go off and I woke up late. Which meant no field hunting. But i went to my land in the timber walked around found scratching and a feather. But heard nothing.

Killed #3 this morning. Actually went to hunt a bird that I have lots of pics of but he doesn’t gobble much. He’s been doing this for the past couple of years in the same place. Got to the club and someone was hunting that area so I had to go to my backup spot. Probably a good thing since I would’ve just been hoping that other bird came through before I had to leave. Found one that was willing to play a little and convinced him to leave his hens and give me a chance.

Congrats Randy! Don’t feel bad Au I’ve been striking out as well. I was close to getting my 2nd gobbler yesterday evening. I know his there now which makes me feel a lot better. I was beginning to wonder if I would even see a gobbler this year. If everything goes good hopefully Saturday I’ll get a chance at him.

Well I don’t get to upgrade with this one because my little man killed him, but it was more fun this way! This was the bird I was going to hunt the other morning but didn’t get to. Been after this bird for quite a while and it was satisfying to watch my son take him.

Congratulations Randy. Good looking bird and kid. He sure looks happy and I know you are.
I got my butt handed to me this morning. Hit my Russell Co place hoping a bird or 2 had moved in since I was there last. Unfortunately not, but I had 3 gobbling close to the line. 2 on the south and 1 on the north. I worked the pair all morning and just couldn't get them to get within 75 or 80 yards of the line before I had to leave to look at a job for a guy. I'll be on them in the morning though and see if I can pull one over. If not I'll wear my sneakers next time. wink

Good luck to you guys this weekend and thanks!! It was a great morning for sure and we were both pumped. I almost got one at 10:30 after his bird for a double but we got a little close. May try him tomorrow. Y’all have a great Easter and God Bless

The butt woopin continued today. Birds in the area are definitely hot. I bet I heard a hundred gobbles this morning but none were on my property. I tried till noon to coax one to me but their just not having it. Hunting clear cut turkeys sucks! I've got a full week ahead of me at work but I'm going to be on their asses again next weekend for sure. It's just a matter of time before I catch up to them.

Didn’t go today but I got whipped good yesterday. I’m sure he would’ve upgraded my first bird but no worries he was taking me to school. He also prob gobbled a couple hundred times and I even saw him a couple of times but he just played games with me. Not sure how I’ll go about hunting him next time but just like we educate them sometimes he will educate me on where he wants to go to die if I don’t blow it. Good luck to you guys if you get to hunt this week; otherwise have a great week and I hope you have a great Easter.

Slightly upgraded my first bird. Wasn’t by much but figured every little bit will help.

Thanks guys. I have been blessed this year for sure. I usually have a pretty good year because I can take time to go but even with that said I don’t remember ever killing 4 this early and also watching 3 more die that I called in. I normally don’t go solo as much this early and let others shoot first. Things have just played out differently this year and I’m thankful for the opportunities. Those years of 1 or 2 here or there will make you appreciate this for sure.
