Me too. Anybody taking a kid this weekend? I'm gonna meet up with Yekrut and his son at my place in Lamar county. Hoping for the best with this crappy weather.

It appears as if a lull between projects may be coinciding with the opener. Very good chance I'll get to hunt the first 4-5 days of the season, which never happens.

What are y'all thinking for team names?

Did a little listening this morning since my nephew is not big enough yet. The hope is with my trips in place I can help us out a little this year. As far as a name I’ll throw out some; Team Turkey Bird, 3 Toes, Butter Ball Screamer, and Screaming Toms.

Took my 5yr old out this morning to try and get him his first bird. Weather wasnt great but we had birds all around us. I didn't have high hopes of him connecting this year being so young but just wanted to enjoy the woods with him. Had a bird gobbling about 75yds from us on roost but after fly down we couldn't get him to commit. I believe he had a few hens with him. While we were fooling around trying to get him to commit another one snuck in silent . I didn't see him till he was about 60 yds and while trying to get my boy situated for what I thought was a for sure shot the bird saw something he didn't like and that was it gone. It was an awesome hunt regardless my boy loved it and got to see and hear birds for the first time. On a side note I was able to get some great Intel today. Game on the 15th.

We ended up running alittle late getting to spot. Had a bird gobbling maybe 100yds off a big greenfield. Got setup on it and bird acted like he was willing to play. Bird ended up sticking about 50 yds off edge of field and worked around behind us. Nephew had a blast even though we never saw the bird. He gobbled a pretty good bit so it had my nephew pumped up. We went back Sunday morning hoping to get a quick hunt in before the rain. Bird never gobbled before we had to make a dash back to truck to keep from getting soaked.

Anytime you hear a bird is a damn good morning IMO

Where's everyone hunting this year? I'm blessed to have several places in Alabama. I'm gonna tinker with Mississippi public land if I can kill a few here first, then making a run in May to north and South Dakota, Nebraska, and possibly Iowa if time allows. Season can't get here soon enough

Hunting here in Alabama till last week in April then start my trek north to Kentucky, Missouri, and Nebraska.

I'll pretty much just be here in Alabama. Might make a trip to Florida to hunt with a buddy on his family land but not 100% on that.

Going in to work tonight then it's 7 days off hope to get a head start on putting points on the board. Looks like a few already had some luck in Florida with some good birds.

I'm hoping my birds cooperate in the morning. I don't have them on camera like I usually do but got a few butterballs that are showing up in different places.
