I finally have a morning to go to the club this saturday and the only things in season are coyotes, pigs and squirrles. I can try swuirrles later in morning, and have no odea where pigs like to be on this land. So.im.gonna give yote calling a try first light.I have a hand held rabbit in disstress and coyote howler. Any tips on what to do? Do i call for 30 sec and stop for 10 min, do I call for 10 min then stop for 30 sec. Do i howl first then rabbit call. Somebody give me a basic calling sequence to try. Or if someone has a good electric call for loan, or trade for deer processing gear im up for that too. Thanks

If you can find the coyotes before you setup you can call them playing Dixie on a wal-mart bag. If you know you have coyotes near start with the distress call for about 3 mins and stop for about 2-3 mins and repeat. I have used the howl to locate coyotes and I will use it when calling if I fell like it. I use the FoxPro inferno and it will change call after a shot and I have it set to go to coyote pup distress. I called twice Saturday with nothing on the first set. On my 2nd set I had a coyote run in after 1 min with rabbit distress and he stopped behind a tree at about 50' and I tried a shot and missed and my call went to the pup distress. After about 3 mins 2 more coyotes ran in and one grabbed my decoy and the way I had setup I could not get a shot on either one and they ran off after about 5 mins. I turned the call off for about 3 mins and then did a female howl and another coyote ran in and circled the call and ran around out of range for about 5 mins. They will come in better with cover but it also makes it hard to get a shot. Mix up your calling until you find something that you have confidence in and watch as many videos as you can because they all do it different but they never call unless they know the coyote are there. I have been trying for years and have killed bobcats and foxes but never coyotes and after I changed to the FoxPro last year I started seeing a few and I learned how to locate them and I still have a lot to learn. I like the MFK videos and the Vandy Collins are good.
