What the hell is around Fort Worth that required a hook that size? No way I'd be smiling either!

I would say casting. That's how most accidents occur. I've been hooked in the rear of my head when the guy in the boat decided to cast to the rear with too much line out. If it was casting where is the bait? You could almost bet, alcohol was involved.

If it was casting where is the bait? You could almost bet, alcohol was involved. when I was 8-10yrs old (somewhere there abouts), my dad caught me in the top of the head with 2 of the 3 points on the rear treble hook of a rattle trap. After trying, unsuccessfully, to cut it out with some wire cutters, he took me to the ER and let them cut it out. Good times...

Perch I took a hook to the head on night when a striper threw a lure right at the boat. Luckily it didn't go in past the barbs. Hard heads are good for sumptin....
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

That's the business end a trolling rig. Probably a big skirted plug up the line out of the picture. That big swivel right at the hook is so you can rig a big dead bait like a ballyhoo or butterflied mullet on there and troll it and it will spin freely without twisting your main line. Only thing I can figure is that maybe someone was clearing lines and turned around with the rod in their hand without looking and hit this poor joker in the face with it. Bolt cutters are the only option on a hook like that. Course Perch would probably just double up a piece of braid, wrap it around the shank, put a couple of drops of bee sting on it and just snap it out. I say that jokingly. Perch is 100% correct. Those bee sting ampules 100% do work like he's saying. I don't know who actually thought to try it but it dang sure does work.
