I wouldn't doubt it. Too many of these incidents are perpetrated by gun hating liberals. It's no secret liberals and all their America hating causes are supported by Soros. But I think this is likely a lunatic that was ignored by every irresponsible adult he came into contact with. He could have been stopped at any of a dozen different points, the most recent being the FBI.
Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.

I think it was a mentally ill man who should have been institutionalized years ago. Unfortunately, our nation has chosen to close mental health facilities and spend the money for other things. This action is coming back to bite us in the arse. I agree with this statement 100%.

Yep, if any of you have ever had to deal with the mental health care in this country, you know how accurate this statement is.

I have said for along time that parenting today is a lot of the problem with society. Like most people on here, growing up didn’t involve a video game, phone or tv. It was working, chores or whatever else you were told to do. There wasn’t no staying inside. I was outside from daylight to dark. Wasn’t allowed to come in the house till dinner time. If I was too dirty to come in, mom or dad would spray me off with the water hose in the yard.
That’s the problem with youth today, their parents sit them in front of tv or whatever so they can do their own thing.
We don’t have cable at our house. My kids are outside as much as possible or helping me when I am home doing projects or just playing with them. When I am at work they help momma with the household chores. They are 6 and 4 and use manners with everyone.
Rant over for now
I would rather be tried by 12, than carried by 6.

I ain't talking about everyone on this site. I agree with him being mentally I'll, not have a mentor, and no one to teach him right from wrong. It goes a whole lot deeper than "no one to teach him right from wrong". Any non-mentally-ill person, even those that are not religious, know that harming or murdering innocent people is wrong, without having to be taught. The guy is pure evil and/or mentally ill (some would argue the two are one in the same in this case, but that's another debate).

The guy was evil and posted his intentions on the internet. The feds/local pd dropped the ball. Now whether or not someone else was involved in allowing it to happen remains to be told so far.

I think it was a mentally ill man who should have been institutionalized years ago. Unfortunately, our nation has chosen to close mental health facilities and spend the money for other things. This action is coming back to bite us in the arse. Absolutely. I personally have arrested many people for crimes but they can not legally be put in a jail because it is illegal to hold someone that is mentally ill in a jail cell. We would take them to the county jail and they would be back out and in town before we were. It's the great dilemma. They commit crimes and are arrested but, by law, can't be held in jail if they have been adjudicated as mentally ill. The capper is that the state shut down any facility that LE had to place these people. It is a great revolving door where LE has to wait until they kill someone before it gets attention, and then their lawyer, rightfully so, will point out that they should have been given mental health treatment long ago.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

The mental health system is broken and under- or non-funded in many states, which affects the judicial system, which ultimately affects the public in more ways than one.
