My first job when I was 14 I worked a summer picking Potato plant seedling's, what made it bad is that they are planted in sawdust and a couple months later the whole row of saw dust is pretty much one huge ant bed, it was pure HELL!!!!!

I worked for Bulldog movers in Atlanta one summer during high school worse job by far. Get in the cab with 4 brothers and they would stop at the liquor store on the way to the move. I walked off the job at an office building we were moving full of filing cabinets by the hundreds. Most of the guys were drunk before we ever got started and being white I was a minority big time.

Cleaning up right aways for Gulf power with a bush ax and chainsaw. The really bad part was $1.40 an hour.

Here are my top three.

1.-Worked retail as a teenager for two days. Hated it and realized that was not for me. Just hated that type of environment.
2.-Worked as a welder in a plant that built silos. My job was welding the interior structure together, built out of 2” angle, after they had already been tack welded. So I spent 8 hours a night making 2” welds. Talk about monotonous.
3.- Worked as a heavy equipment operator for about a year, about 25 years ago. I loved the job but hated my boss with a passion. Didn’t matter what you did or how you did it, in his eyes, it was ALWAYS wrong. He had a bad temper, to the point he had actually gotten in a few fist fights with employees before. One day I was in the shop servicing a piece of equipment and he told me something, can’t remember what, to which I simply replied, “okay”. I guess he was looking for a “yes sir”, because he told me he would knock me through the block wall if I smarted off to him. I was holding a screw driver and told him I would stab his old a$$ to death if he laid a hand on me. Shocked him good. I quit shortly after because I knew it was just a matter of time before we tied up.

Hands down, my first job. Fry cook at McDonald’s. Nothing worse. I unloaded busted beer pallets off trucks in the summer time. Green beer in 100 degree trailers. You smelled like a brewery when you went home. We had cards stating where we worked Incase of being stopped by the police.😆

Americold in Cullman making compressors. Absolute worst experience of my life working with Union labor. They treated the new hires like slaves (Which I found Funny Considering) I worked double shifts 5 days a week for 3 weeks and normal shift on Saturday. The only day I didn't work a double was my birthday and I caught hell for it. Woke up the next morning and told them to go phuck themselves. Man that felt good grin

Not worst job but hardest on me was picking produce by hand for a couple summers in high school. Most boring was working as a security guard.

Many of yalls are much worse than mine. Back in the 80's when I was in high school and college I worked at Sears in the receiving department. I hated it but need the job to put myself through college. Job was mainly unloading trailers. Sears at that time sold a ton of tires, batteries and paint. The distribution place didnt put much on pallets cause they could pack more in the trailer without them. After you unload a couple of 48' trailers of cases of paint (4 gallons to the case) you get pretty strong.

Started at 17 and was 6' and about 145. When I left at 22 I was 6'2" and 255 and I had no fat. So that is the only good thing.

The worst part was loading up a trailer full of used tires. Many had belts sticking out that would go right through a pair of leather gloves.

But it made me study harder and work to never have to do that crap again.

I love my country, but don't trust my government.

running a pto water furrow plow in the dead of the Delta summer... covered in a thin mud layer made of sweat and dust over a severe, stinging sunburn...always seemed to be crawling along with the wind...on a bare backed, worn out ih1206. that summer suk'd! the next summer I stepped I up to ditch cleaner, trading the bare backed 1206 and dust for a bare backed backhoe and a plethora of biting insects!

experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....

Publix in high school bagging groceries. Front end supervisor would harass all of us about tips. Guy was an idot. Made an intolerable job worse. Only poetic justice was he got fired for stealing from the store after months of harassing us about customer tips. rofl

I worked for Showtime rent to own in Clanton my senior year in high school, we did the same thing, I can't remember how many times we had to go get a tv on a Saturday morning with 3-4 kids sitting around it watching cartoons, I will say it is amazing how nasty some people are, we would repo refrigerators and washing machines, most of the time these things were trashed and they had only had them for a month or so...

I've had several " education motivation" jobs: Pouring concrete in I-20, Mixer at a plastic molding plant, Helper at EC Gaston Steam Plant, 3rd shift @ a poultry processing plant, convenience store in a Democrat neighborhood.

1. Hauling hay “square bales”.

2. Fry cook at Jack’s.

3. Stocking/bagging groceries.

I absolutely hated all three jobs.

...have to say working some with a Contract Security Co for some extra pocket change (Im retired Army)
Knew the #2 guy very well...He wanted me to take a Supervisors job with 6 employees at $10.00 an hr...which he was charging contracted company $45 for a supervisor...charged $30 an hr for each renta cop...but only paid them $7.50 an hr
Didn't pay his employees crap, no insurance, no vacation, even tried to chit them on over-time...was making bank off them, treated them like dirt...#2 Buddy claimed to a be Christian, I told him he needed to reaffirm his claim as a preacher being how he and the #1 treated those employees...he got pissed when I told him the truth...Oh well

Shingling roofs on new construction when I was probably between 17-21 years old. Most of the roofs were 12-12 or 14-12 pitch everything had to be handnailed on steeper than a 12on12 slope. Try climbing up a ladder and up toe boards with 65lbs on your back in july all day everyday. Think ive got the back of a 60 year old man from it and im still in my 30s.we did a couple 16 on 12 pitch roofs it was like working up a wall on doubled up toeboards.
