Meopta Meopro in what ever magnification range you prefer. Their #4 reticle is close enough in the center that you can actually use the heavy lines to bracket a deer in low light when you can't see the center cross hairs...Others I have seen are really wide and require more guesstimation

I wasn't sure I would like it at first because I've never owned a scope with this type reticle and wasn't sure how it would perform in low light but as gundoc said the heavy lines of the reticle are close enough that you can pretty well be dead on even if you can't see the center cross hairs.

The meopta #4 reticle is the best I've seen. Swaovski Z3 models have a good #4 as well but the other Swaraovski models are thinner and I'm not a big fan.

I borrowed a buddy's scope while waiting for my vortex to come in. The scope I borrowed was a bps pro staff occulus. Took it to the range and shot it out to 750 yards. Was impressed with this $299 scope. If I hadn't already dropped good money on the vortex, I would have gone straight to BPS and bought one!
if God wanted me to be a vegetarian, he would have made shooting brussel sprouts more fun!

Meopta Meostar is the way to go with the German #4 reticle.

Im a big fan of the Votrex vipers and HD's but the Meoptas are very nice as well. I will be looking for a few optics here soon myself to put on a 308 and 6.5.
