Thought I’d share with y’all the final touch on what was a great deer season for me. I only killed one deer, but that deer happened to be my first racked buck after years of hunting and losing a couple bucks and missing on one. I had become frustrated at the end of the 2016-17 deer season, and was probably as bad a year as I’d had in terms of not seeing any deer, disgusted with the properties I was hunting. I set out before the 2017-2018 season to diversify my hunting options, have more places to hunt, work harder at scouting those places, and in general being a smarter hunter. It paid off for me in more deer sightings, including a very nice buck that I was unable to shoot but thankful to have saw him nonetheless. Anyway, today I finished my skull cap mount of the buck that I was fortunate enough to harvest. Best of luck to everyone in the upcoming 2018-19 season!
