I know some of y'all don't care for the NFL, but today the Indy Colts announced Josh McDaniels (the Patriots' OC) as the new head coach.

And then hours later, and he hadn't signed the contract yet, he changed his mind and decided to stay with the Pats. Apparently they had clarity with when Belichick may/will retire, sweetened his deal in N.E., and he stayed.

That's huge. He's been expected to take that job for weeks, and Indy didn't apparently have a backup plan.

it probably had a lot to do with luck's questionable health as well. I would have stayed in NE too.

If you'll remember, the other team involved in "Deflategate", was the Colts.

I bet Kraft would have let him go to about 31 other teams before them.... bad blood to say the least.

McDaniels' agent cut ties with him today. The agent also represents the Colts' general manager, which was embarassing to both of them. McDaniels didn't tell his agent what was going on until after saying he was staying in NE.

I'm sure the agent was highly pissed. McDaniels may not get another head coaching opportunity for a while.

That is interesting. Wonder if the Pat's management was worried they were loosing to them parts to continue to be Super Bowl contenders in coming years and made McDaniels an offer he couldn't refuse (Belichick's job when he retires)?

McDaniels is getting roasted. Even rick and bubba were on him for flipping after some assistants had already quit to go with him to indy?

The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

All the reports I've seen say there were no guarantees about him getting the job when Lord Vader retires, nor any specific year about that potential retirement.

The other interesting twist I've seen is that the Colts were the ones who instigated the investigation into the deflated footballs, and Kraft HATES them. He holds grudges. Also, Irsay is a drug-addled weirdo. So to let McDaniels - who flopped in Denver but is IMO a solid OC - go to the Colts probably was bothering the chit out of them, especially Kraft.

The getback? Don't say a word to McDaniels about it until late in the process, let everyone including the Colts think they had him, and then stick in not just a dagger but a razor-honed carving knife and twist it hard by keeping him in Foxboro. And they did it.

McDaniels may get a HC job again but I'll bet it won't be anytime soon, and it never will be in Indy.

That's great and all but did you watch their superbowl ceremony in Philadelphia. Most were cussing like sailors and dropping f bombs left and right when they got ahold of the microphone and the ones that weren't were laughing and joking around about everything that was said while the others were doing it. I'm not in anyway questioning one's personal salvation but when you're saved you're supposed to attempt to live an example like Christ. I didnt see too many shining examples of Christian behavior in the footage I saw from the Eagles players.

I don't know if any of the players in the article where the ones you saw but you do have to understand a microscope will be on you as long as you follow Christ. hopefully they will realize that and behave how they should in public and in private. I'm a devout Christian but I can't say I behave like I should every day. If I could just quit flipping people the bird on 280 i would be a better person lol ... He's still working on me.
