I used to know a guy that did this back in the 60's when the blacks were rioting in Chattanooga. Blew up several blacks trying to shoot cops. BTW, he's in prison on unrelated charges, has been for 40 years.

I got the idea from a CIA operation in Vietnam I read about. They got the green berets to place hot loads in enemy ammo depots in order to create distrust in Chinese ammo.

Man don't say that! I was picking up trash along the rd and found a bag with a 12 pack of bud light 2 missing and a 15 pack of 12 ga buckshot ( federal blue box) I thrashed the beer and kept the shells. Now you got me spooked.. I just figured someone spooked and put out evidence.

they may be ok but I wouldn't shoot shells I found on the side of the road.

Sounds like there is a hog problem there. With a 5 gallon bucket of tannerite and 10# of 16p nails duct taped to the outside of the bucket.

That would remove those pesky hogs.

I asked a sheriff deputy Friday if they had made any headway. He said yes and no.

Talked to a game warden this morning. He said they had been ordered not to go to that part of the county alone!!!!!!!!

Well, since Dan has left and Mickey is by himself.....

Does that mean the State has chosen not to enforce the Conservation Laws and Regulations in that area?

OR, are they finally gonna fill some of the vacancies they have and provide more Enforcement personnel in the field??

I feel like I know the answer....

See "Special Task Force" members listed on page 5 of the current regulation book. Looks like about 11 of them.

I can’t understand why people hunt that area if it’s that bad. I’d have to find a less colorful area to do my deer hunting if it were me. Maybe that will catch the scum responsible and we can watch em hang from a tree!!

The decision to NOT enforce the Laws & Regulations in the area is why it is the way it is.
I suppose that it has been personal preference before though........now, it is Official Policy.

If this is what we get from the DCNR, all Regulations amd Rules to ‘manage’ the deer the way they want us to........with very little to NO Enforcement other than harassing hunters about whether a deer is traveling to their supplemental feed that is placed according to their direction of 100yds and out of sight......... Well, I for one do not see much need in supporting that Dept.

Is the total lack of enforcement in West Wilcox really the true situation? Granted I'm on the other side of the river in a much less "colorful" area but I saw the GW on the roads on 3 of the 5 trips I made to and from my lease this past week. He might not be doing anything but wearing the rubber off those tires everyday but I know he was in the area. Then again, if he was on my side of the river, and there's only a single warden for Wilcox, then I guess I can attest to the fact that he wasn't over on the more "colorful" west side where all the action has been happening.

I'd really like to know it they truly have been told not to patrol in that area.

I haven't received a call back from the district office yet. I truly believe when I talk to Kenneth Blalock, he will help.
He was the game warden here during the late eighty to early nineties so he knows the people of the area.

I didn't say he was told not to patrol the area. I said he was told not to go alone. I don't blame him for needing another officer with him after the shooting. Would you want to, patrol by yourself knowing help is at least 30 minutes away?

Hell Sounds like a typical day for a GW. My ole friend (passed on now) liked working alone...

Yeah, there are probably no more than two GWs for a tiny county like Wilcox, anyway. Working alone is the norm.

There WERE 2.....now there is 1.

And, I do hate that his job puts him in peril!!!
But, it IS his job and he CHOSE it!

As for seeing him a lot on 41 across the river.....
Makes sense, he lives over there.

It is not the individual officers fault.
He is a good guy!

BUT, the office that he works under is NOT Supporting him OR the people that they are supposed to Serve at all in this situation! PERIOD

10-4 Makes sense. I've only talked to him once and he seemed like a good guy. What happened to the other Wilcox officer, I thought there were two assigned to the county? Did he recently retire? There was a different guy that would respond if we had issues on the Thomasville property. He was a no nonsense type guy that did a seriously good job and followed up after the fact. Very professional and took care of business. Why wouldn't the Clarke, Marengo and Wilcox guys all be working together in the area in question given the proximity of the county lines right there. It would seem like with that being a known "hot" area, and having been so for the last 3-5 years, why wouldnt efforts and manpower be concentrated there to help get it cleaned up.
