No crimp on Bolt Actions, light crimp on Autos

No crimping on any of my rifle rounds, even 5.56 for my AR. I chucked the expander ball in a drill and turned it on a sharpening stone to grind about .001 off the ball. This gives me more neck tension and keeps the bullet from shifting in the neck under the force of the bolt slamming closed on an AR. This is actually recommended by Sierra in their reloading guide.

I put a slight crimp on all my loads just after they come off the concentricity gauge
