Stripping a boat getting ready to recarpet is a J O B. I finished getting everything out of the boat this afternoon. Next the carpet comes out, the gunwale, bow and stern "decks" get repainted with a single stage urethane, then the carpet goes back in.

I may have to have an aldeer get together to get all the gauges and switches wired back up correctly. LOL

Thoughts and opinions on extending the deck back to the front of the console? Would be about 18 more inches of deck space.

More than anything I would put some padding under that carpet. Your feet and back would greatly appreciate it

I've never seen boat carpet padding. I'll check on it.

I've bought a lot of stuff from this company. Fast shipping and great prices.

haleyville al,
With out a doubt extend the deck. We used 22oz. Carpet and padding in my brother's bumble bee. It made a world of difference

Do you cover the whole deck with pading or just an area where you commonly stand?

Is it a special padding, like closed cell foam? When we put a fiber splicing trailer together at work we bought the floor pads for horse trailers at Tractor Supply to cover the floor and reduce fatigue from hard floor. They're near 1" thick I believe and work real good. If and when I recarpet mine I may go that route on the front deck. Mine came with a removable extension that basically doubles the front deck area. I gotta tweak it just a tad so it fits more snug.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

haleyville al,
What we used was already attached to the carpet. It was about 1/4 in or so. He picked it up in florance at a flooring store. When I put carpet in mine I'm doing front and back deck with padding and leaving reg carpet in the floor
