WSFA is saying that the Montgomery area could get over an inch while Andalusia area Southeast could get three inches of snow. Schools and businesses are closing things left and right in Montgomery except my office. And what’s not closing all day is shutting down at noon tomorrow until Wednesday afternoon. I had no idea all this was going on I just got in from hunting and it’s snow Armageddon all on TV.

Well crap, I was thinking only from about Prattville up would be getting impacted.

Know the feeling, unless cell phones take a snow day.

I’m betting it starts around 11:00.

Give all the crews an easy 3-hour objective and tell them you’ll see what the weather looks like when they finish it. When they get it done right in 2 hours, send them home.

Same here. Im driving their truck is the only plus.
The last one that came they kept us there so long after it started getting bad my normal 30 minute drive home from Bham turned into 2 hours. One of our guys made it to the bass pro exit in leeds and slept in his truck all night. He ended up walking to the first pell city exit the next day. Another guy from clanton spent 24 hrs on the side of 65 somewhere around the shelby co airport.
He told the boss today not a chance in hell we would see him tomorrow.

Got a training session in Charlotte which wraps up Wednesday afternoon. Hoping it doesn’t get too bad that I can’t make it back to Columbia Wednesday evening. DOT has already started brining the interstates here so they are obviously expecting something significant. Y’all stay safe and don’t forget yer milk and bread.

Thankfully I’m off until Thursday but if I was scheduled to work shift tomorrow I would have to be there.

Snow and ice already on roads in Arkansas, primarily in the northeast corner but also up in the Ozarks and also around Little Rock.

The last time we had ice, I thought I was invincible. I've got four wheel drive, I shouldn't have a problem. Like most people, I still had to go to work. On the way home my confidence deteriorated quickly as I was sliding around the road at 5 to 10 miles per hour. Hopefully it won't come to this, but y'all be safe.

i'm starting to feel like I should own tire chains. There have been a lot of times over the last few years that I have wished I had them.

I'm working from home tomorrow I think. I'll run to the office in the morning to get some files, then chill at home writing a report. Probably bill 4 hours, so not a total loss.

I bought some for my wife's van when we went to the Smokies and snow was expected. Ended up needing them. I don't have any for my truck...always put it off.

Unless it starts to peter out we will be leaving at 12:00, I almost got stuck in the 2014 debacle, if we had left work 5 minutes later, I would have been stuck...

Models haven't handled the moisture well at all with this. Radar is much more robust than what was modeled, at the moment.
