Thanks for all the compliments folks..Taxidermist says he was 3.5 years old and scores about 109".. Also The doe's left the plot when he showed up interesting to me that they left..Plenty of scrapping going on now in southeast Bama but he had verylittle stink to his tarsals..with a few older soars on his neck from sparring..Will be headed up to Barbour WMA on the Jan 18th hunts..

That's a great deer. Were you hunting the National Forest or inside the WMA?

You would be surprised what comes out of that WMA. I've seen numerous 140"+ deer killed off that place.

I'd like to see what someone calls a "140+" deer killed off that WMA. I've seen one true 140" deer come off Scotch WMA in my life. Folks have no idea how hard it is for a deer to score in the 140's and above.

Plenty of property to hunt..all over the state..This deer was probably in the top age class off of that wma according to the harvest sheet at the warden shed but who knows for sure...I was just plain lucky to see him..I have put many hours on stand in several wma's across the state..Got pictures of several nice bucks down at Perdido WMA..but no luck with a shot..so 1 mans luck is not the telling of the where and the how..You look at the hunter hours to kill ratio and you will find that the WMAs dont show the deer numbers truthfully deer dont move much in the daylight on public land...So...everyone can get lucky they just gotta be there for the moment of truth....I sat all day in January to get this guy the last 20 mins of light...it was overcast and cold...my favorite kind of hunt..Thanks for any reply..
