Our Christmas tree is still up and I’m loving it. Probably latest we’ve ever had it up.
I think I’ve shared previously how my mama, as good as she is, would snatch our tree down on Christmas night every year. I hated it and told my wife when we got married 20 years ago that it had to stay through New Year’s. I coaxed her into leaving it through the natty this year.
I’d leave it until spring but wife has said it’s going tomorrow or Monday.
Guy I work with lived in Mobile for awhile. He said they add Mardi Gras beads and keep them through Mardi Gras there. Told me I’d love it.

Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?

We do. No plans on taking it down. It looks like we are ready for Christmas.

I'm in favor of a 4-foot model with the same lights and ornaments that just gets moved from the back office to the den and back again, but I get overruled.

haleyville al,
Took ours down the day of the national championship. Had to make room. We have to rearrange everything in the house to make room for a tree. I'm past ready to build.

Got two outside that are still lit and look good at night. Makes it look like there is a lot of folks here at the house. Gonna keep em up for a while as a theft deterrent. Been lots of houses around here getting broken into. It is about hammer time if you catch my drift.

The twelve days of Christmas starts on Christmas Day. Ending on January the 6th with the feast of Epiphany. This year was the first time we took ours down before the 6th in a long time.

Just can't let it go huh. We ride around a lot and see houses that still have lights hanging on them all year. We broke it down to two seasons. Before and after the 4th of July. If they were still up before the 4th, it was said "they just can't let it go". If it was after, it was said "their just getting an early start".

It be's that way sometimes.

Sounds like too many have sugar in their cornbread. Are the jack-o-lanterns still out too?????

Ours is still up....we usually try to take it down right after New Years, but his year we've all all been sick ever since and just haven't gotten to it.

Ours is still up. The wife won't let me or the grandaughters mess with her ornaments. She says we will screw them up. She's had the flu then turned around and now has bronchitis and strep.

Just leave it up all year then, and say it's in storage.

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

I leave mine up all year. I just put it in the attic and bring it back down for Christmas. This year I didn't even bring it down. It's just fine with me if I don't ever have to bring it back down.

When I lived in Louisiana it drove me crazy to see lights up through Mardi Gras. I'd hate to know what some of their power bills were.
