It's been 3 years (and a few months) since I last killed a deer....or even saw one while hunting, for that matter. Tonight, that changed. Shot him at 130ish yds, he ran about 40 and crashed. High lung shot, exactly where I wanted to hit him. I actually let one slightly bigger walk about 2 hours prior, but after he left I started thinking about how I've been begging God to have a little pity on me and let me shoot a deer. I didn't care how big it was, just wanted to kill one. Well after he left, I started thinking "You big dummy, you just got what you'd been asking for and you passed it up!" So I decided if that deer came back, he was toast. He didnt, but one almost identical to him did so I didn't hesitate.

This one had me shaking as much as any of them.

Two bonuses: the rifle I killed him with was my first deer rifle that my dad gave me in highschool, and this is the first deer I've ever killed with that particular rifle; also I was lucky enough to miss the heart by roughly half an inch (by design, but I cut it closer than I thought), so the heart is totally intact. About to trim it up to cook tomorrow - something I've been wanting to try for a while.

2. All Gun Laws Are an Infringement
3. Taxation Is Theft
