Like a lot of folks we are looking for ways to cut expenses. Our homeowners insurance is running close to $300 a month and I'm fixing to do something. I checked with another company and they have close to the same coverage for about $170, the difference is to be determined next week and is probably hurricane coverage and other small print stuff. It is tempting to do without, but I'm going to do some more checking.

Mine is too expensive but considerably cheaper than yours. Then I saw the part about you being in FL and that explains it.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

We called USAA and it was less than $100 a year cheaper than our current policy with Farmers. Not really worth changing.

Sig Sauer, to hell and back reliable.

Whatever suits you just tickles me plum to death.

Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?

Thanks for the kind words, guys! Wish we could help you FL fellas but I still haven't pursued a FL license.

Check with MW2015. Good guy that might be able to help you down that way. If he can't, I bet he can point you in the right direction.

Go independent. You'll get a good deal, and then in month 11, after no claims, the insurance company will come up with some cockamamie reason to increase your rate (dog, trampoline, red-blooded male below mason Dixon line who likes to watch stuff explode or wife with two big-ass tits above the carrying capacity of your re-inforced slab.) Go to another company cheaper than the first one, repeat process in month 11 of year 2.

Don't ask for pics, you bunch of old perverts.

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

Appreciate the recommendation Brandon. Timber, pm me and I'll try to help you whether I place it myself or refer you to someone else. Florida market is tough after last hurricane but there are alternatives.

Timber - get a quote from Olympus, that's who I have and it's pretty reasonable. Cheaper than what you are talking about currently having.

I have an insurance agency in Crestview Florida. If you would like I can get some quotes for you or at least review your current policy and tell you what it covers and doesn't cover and maybe make some suggestions on changing coverage.

I will send a pm with my contact info. I am willing to help anyone in Florida. I am like Mr Mayer. Honest. I try to educate people about insurance and let them decide what they want to do.

I live in Santa Rosa County, Florida. My home owner's insurance is half of what yours is monthly and I live in an "upscale" neighborhood. Something sure doesnt seem right with your premium. I use Tower Hill.

Is it that much because of hurricane coverage? We have talked about buying a 2 bedroom condo in Navarre or somewhere like that is why I ask.

We own a three bedroom condo on Navarre Beach and the insurance is pretty steep. We rent it out about half the time and rental income covers insurance, taxes, condo fees, etc...,plus more. We do not have a mortgage on the condo.

If you think that is a lot you don't want to have a house in South Florida.

We're not doing a mortgage either and are planning on renting ours out some. Probably half the time like you. I really like Navarre.

I don't think that's a lot. I'll make it back by renting it out, I was just curious. I also have no desire to go to South Florida. By that I mean, South Florida doesn't need to lose sleep thinking I'm going to show up sick lol
