Just started hunting in a club about 10 miles south of Lafayette. When does the rut get going in this area?

Mid January but they should be cruising now

We leased near 5 Points for 15 years, quite honestly, I have NO idea! The herd around there is so mixed and out of balance it wasn't uncommon to see MATURE bucks fully chasing and grunting on Oct 15th in bow season, then maybe never see any other rut evidence the rest of season. Then go down there in March and they're chasing everywhere. Next year from Christmas till Jan 1 they're out of their minds chasing. Two more years in a row you hardly even see a scrape. That land single-handedly turned me completely against "the rut" None of that is exaggeration at all.

We were on the edge of Eternia, when the power of Greyskull began to take hold.
