I don't think the price should be the same if the whole family hunts as opposed to a single hunter. They deplete the resources to a greater degree and should pay more. I agree, i hunt alone or sometimes bring my dad. But I pulled uo one day and a member had 2 nephews, and 4 kids with him. Took 4 of the 7 green fields on the property. Im hoping to get a lease this year, and have a good friend that Im not asking to join cause he takes 3-4 family every time he hunts.

Our club has a rule that states, 3 bucks and 4 does per member. When I questioned this as the rules were passed out, I was told that is a "per membership". That is the only area of the rules that state a limit on deer numbers.
I never gave it another thought, until this past week. A member, his son, and his wife have now killed 3 rack bucks, 1 button buck, 3 does, and wounded another large buck and 3 does. I confronted the member about it Friday, after his wife killed a 10pt. He said that his understanding was 2 bucks/2 does per family member. I called bull chit on that.
Well, the club president and treasurer are siding with this guy, despite the majority of members being pissed. They claim that this was a rule in years past, and it simply got left out by accident. Their stance is that he will be allowed to have 2 bucks/ 2 does for his son and wife this year, and that it will be "voted" on after the season. I'm of the opinion they are pansies, and going about it back asswards. The rule as written should be enforced.
Obviously I'm furious over this. I've already told them I won't be getting back in and I consider this a breach of the contract we all signed, leaving the rest of the rules null and void. It's sad because it's really great land, and a majority of the members are in agreement that he should be done at 3 bucks and 4 does.
What is yalls take on it?
Sounds like bs & playing favorites. That's why rules should be a page or 2 at most and hopefully written using the KISS principle. Keep it simple and you shouldn't have problems or drama. Luckily, I'm in a club with simple rules and a sensible President easygoing but will quash bs and drama before it starts. Runs stuff by members first before thinking of changing a rule. It's just common sense and courtesy. Best thing to do when you are in a club with a weak or Mercurial President is to get the heck out. Fill your freezer and don't go back. There's no winning when the president changes his mind on rules without polling members first. That should be your clue to look elsewhere. Good luck.

Our club has a similar rule. 2 bucks and 3 does per membership... No guest fee but your guest hunts off of your limit, period. No extras because its your wife, kid or whatever
Sucks your dealing with this BS atoler cause it sounds like y'all have good land.

My 2 cents ain't worth 1 cent but I choose to stay out of Hunting clubs to avoid any sort of drama. I hunt to do just that "Hunt" and enjoy Gods creation and I will not have a bunch of Hunting club drama ruin that.

Sounds like you need to take your wife/girlfriend, children, nephews, nieces, friends, friends’ wives and kids and start wearing them out...2 each Best idea yet. Put the shoe on the other foot and see how fast they start backtracking. Playing their game is better than trying to beat them at their game.
