The great grandson of Coach Bryant. Just saw this on ESPN. Can he start on 1/1/18??

I think it is one of those Bryant Scholarships. I am not sure about that Being that He is rated the 6th Best Pro Style QB in the Nation on 24/7 Composites rating scale. The Kid is a pretty darn Good QB and not Just riding the Name of His Great Grandpaws coatails.

I think it is one of those Bryant Scholarships. Fairly sure those are just for kids of people who played for coach Bryant

I think it is one of those Bryant Scholarships. Fairly sure those are just for kids of people who played for coach Bryant Bryant scholarship, tiddlywinks scholarship, or football scholarship, if he is on the team, he counts against the 85 man limit they can have on scholarship of any kind, so it really doesn't make a difference.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

If he's related to Bear Bryant, does he really need a scholarship to play football at Bama? Can't he be a walk-on and not be counted against the 85? I'm pretty sure that's what Luke Del Rio did since his dad is a millionaire NFL coach

I'm pretty sure that's what Luke Del Rio did since his dad is a millionaire NFL coach Even if my parents were rich, if I was good enough to play for Alabama and get a scholarship to do so, I'd want the scholarship. Total value has to approach $200K I bet.

It actually does matter. He is tying up 2 scholarships. Give him a football scholarship and the Bryant scholarship to a non-football player. Give it to a baseball player (which they done in the past), they need all the help they can get. Don't remember the whole story but the Bryant scholarship was given to 2 brothers out of Texas that played baseball at Alabama. Seems their dad was on a team that played against Bryant's Alabama team. Dad was paralyzed against Bama. When his kids got old enough they got Bryant Scholarships.

I wasn't very clear, I meant it doesn't matter as it relates directly to the football team meaning they can't have more than 85 football players on scholarship no matter what type of scholarship it is.

I worked OT, a second almost full time job and sold my paid for Tundra to pay tuition and he still owes 16k. It would have to be more if your kid was a walk on athlete.

Thank goodness we only have one more semester to go, then I get to start on #2. He has backed off on AU since we told him he would have to live with his sister if he went there. Most likely Troy or the local JC for him for a couple of years, which will help us out.

Well I hope he graduated and was able to find employment after college.
