Any of y'all using/loading any of these for hunting ammo? I ask because I have some Prime Ammo 6.5 Creedmoor that is loaded with them. Prime says they recommend them for pigs and deer, however Berger's website specifically says they do not recommend using their target bullets for hunting. The OTM is listed as a target bullet.
Personally, I don't think it's a good idea, but just wanted to hear what other had to say...

I have had people use them with success and had one other person use them out of a 7mm that lost some deer. I would just stick to the hunting line. I have great success with them.
Only accurate rifles are interesting.

Something else I thought of, aren't they illegal for hunting in AL since they aren't designed to mushroom?

Gundoc- they will kill the heck out of a deer. Every one I have shot with the hunting has never failed. Question is why would you use the target when you could just get the hunting version and shoot targets and animals with them. I can tell you this the 115 grain berger mushroom at 500 yards looks like a picture perfect cor-lok shot at 50. And yes it was on a deer not the ground
Only accurate rifles are interesting.

Prime uses RUAG (Norma) projectiles in their ammo and it performs great!

I just don't have any desire to shoot a deer with match ammo. I'm sure it'll work most of the time but by asking the question it seems like you already aren't a 100% confident on using them

I just don't have any desire to shoot a deer with match ammo. I'm sure it'll work most of the time but by asking the question it seems like you already aren't a 100% confident on using them Well, I don't either unless it's capable of making an clean kill. For example, the Sierra Match King is not designed to mushroom and it marketed as a match bullet. If you want to hunt with a comparable bullet they offer the Game King which is designed to mushroom. However, as RH said, it's possible to have a match bullet that will perform equally well on game. I just didn't know if this was one. The reason for my question, is Prime says their ammo is suitable for taking game and yet I knew it was sold/marketed as a match bullet and applying the same logic as above on the SMK I was hesitant to use it. I have contacted Prime and they assured me it was a very good bullet to use on game, and pointed to me to their DOPE page to see all the critters killed with the bullet in question. Buckhunter2's post above also supports that. I was simply trying to gather as much info as possible on a new bullet I quite frankly knew nothing about, other than the fact it shoots amazingly well out of my rifle.

For me,two reliable witnesses, especially the manufacturer, plus the fact that it shoots incredibly well, which would be the main reason to use it anyway, would be enough for me to use it on deer. I mean we ain't talking about Grizzly bears. I probably wouldn't go for a Texas heart shot though.

I've killed with SMK Berger JLK Matrix Lapua and they all perform about the same. All fell within sight and all had unsurvivable wounds
